Our Story

The Garden Nook is the realization of a long-held dream nurtured within our hearts and minds for years. Bringing this dream to life required perseverance, dedication, unwavering family support, and the invaluable lessons learned from both failures and growth. At the core of it all lies our profound love for plants and gardening, the driving force behind our journey.  As a mother-daughter duo, our mission is to spread the joy of houseplants and gardening throughout our community.  Our goal is to share our knowledge and passion for this industry to help nurture others into the wonderful world of plants.

Meet Erin

Erin inherited her love of plants from her mother and grandparents. Her first job was at a nursery & garden center where she nervously bought her first houseplant, an African violet. Thus began her journey with houseplants. She took all of her plant babies to college with her...who then soon died deciding a low-light dorm life was not for them. Not to be deterred though, Erin continued to trust her intuition (bought some more plants) and decided to pursue a degree in Horticulture. She received her degree from Trident Technical College in 2017 and hasn't looked back since! Over the years she has worked at multiple nurseries managing the houseplant sections, teaching educational workshops and continuing to hone her houseplant knowledge. As her proficiency in this field blossomed, so to did her desire to open a plant store, a dream she had told almost everyone about. With her mothers support and like-minded thinking, they brought that dream to life.

Meet Lisa

Lisa has always had a love for flowers and gardening. Her expertise lies in the little details and behind the scene work that gets done to make a pretty plant or the perfect bouquet.  She worked in the health care field for many years, but eventually found herself wanting to dedicate more of her time to working in the garden. This led her to start growing cut flowers. In 2019 she began a course that taught her all about starting seeds, how to cultivate her flower beds and grow beautiful cut flower bouquets. She excelled so greatly that she wanted to keep growing this little side hustle into a business. As Lisa's love for growing cut flowers grew, her dream of opening a garden store grew as well. With her daughters love of houseplants and her passion for flowers they made the perfect duo to create The Garden Nook. â€‹â€‹
